Kirkland Leaves Pool for WBA for season-long loan

Kirkland on loan at WBA

It's finalised. Chris Kirkland completes the move from the Anfield side to WBA for a season-long loan.

Pool's £8m capture of goal-keeper Jose Reina from Villarreal is almost confirmed, Reina's arrival at Anfield most probably spelled the end of the road at Anfield for Kirkland.

Chris joined Liverpool from Conventry for £6m in 2001. He was highly regarded as the goalkeeper of his generation. He looked almost certain to hold the No. 1 place over Jerzy Dudek for the first-team spot. However, his back injury during the season ended his first-team spell.

It's unlikely that Chris would return to Anfield upon completion of his loan period at WBA at the end of 05/06 season. I always thought that Kirland has the potential to be England's No. 1, hope his move to WBA wouldn't hurt us.

Jose Reina

On the other hand, I'm happy that Liverpool is going to make the first signing for Jose Reina. Every other team in the League is signing someone, except us. I was seriously getting worried.
