Everton 1 - 3 Liverpool

Liverpool Triumphant in Merseyside derby

Everton was a tad unlucky to have a goal disallowed, things might have changed if Beattie's 1st goal was ruled on-side by the linesman.

Liverpool made it 9 wins outta 9; amazing streak. Crouch's goal was a beauty, the confidence of a striker is back for the ex-Saints front-man. Gerrard followed with a second & Cisse scored his in the second half. I was happy to see Cisse scoring, it was a great goal too. The rumours of him leaving Anfield for Marseilles are rife.

Beattie pulled one back for the blue half on the merseyside, but Liverpool's back four proved to be sufficient to shut out Everton's attacks on goal.

Liverpool seems unbeatable now, everything seems to be going right for them. They are now 3rd place in the league, behind Chelsea & Man Utd; but with 2 games in hand. Man Utd dropped 2 precious points against Birmingham, it seems like Liverpool is the only possible team to be able to "catch" the leaders at the top.

Liverpool just have to keep the momentum going & not let the amazing winning streak get to their heads, start to lose focus and become complacent. That's the last thing I would want to see happening.

Liverpool 2 - 0 Newcastle

Botch of the Game ; Owen Dejected

What a game!

The pre-match talk was about Owen's return to Anfield since his transfer to Real Madrid & how he would be receiving a rousing reception when he comes back to Anfield. That was not to be. The Kop booed, chanted "Where were you in Istanbul?" taunting the Anfield legend that once won trophies for the club.

Overall, it was a great game for Liverpool. They controlled most of the match & ran all over Newcastle in the midfield. The space Kewell had on the left was incredible, he might have scored 1 goal himself; if not for the fantastic goalkeeping by Shay Given. I must mention this, Kewell seems to improving alot since he came back from injury. I never liked him before, but his recent performances are slowing changing my mind. He made the cross that resulted in the second goal, headed in by Crouch; not forgetting that he made a few good crosses into the box which we didn't finish.

Owen didn't make much of an impact. Not his fault actually, but he wasn't receiving the support & service from the midfield. When he rarely got a chance, Carra was there to stop him.

The only botch of the game was Bowyer's sent-off. I didn't think he deserved the red card for his challenge on Alonso; at most a yellow. Crouch was really lucky to escape with a yellow card, i thought he should have been sent off for his unsporting behaviour towards Bowyer. Gerrard was worse, I have never seen him reacted this way before. I was totally shocked when I saw him pushing & shoving Shearer & he had to be restrained by his calmer team mates.

The match ended in Liverpool's favour. We kept another clean sheet, notched up another win & another 3 points; keeping the momentum we left off before we went to Japan for the World Club Championships.

Sao Paulo 1 - 0 Liverpool

Pre-Match Minute Silence for Rafa's dad

We lost in Japan, we aren't the champions of the world.
But we are definitely the better team on the pitch, we had 3 goals disallowed, a valid penalty claim waved off. It's just ain't our day.

We now have to concentrate on the domestic league competition, facing Newcastle at Anfield on Boxing Day. We have to win this match, it's important to keep the momentum going, the 3 points are vital to us now.

The matches between now till the new year are extremely critical, if we are still in the top 3 after the holidays; I reckon we will have a fine chance of challenging Chelsea for the top spot.

Liverpool faces Benfica

Benfica vs Liverpool

Liverpool is drawn to face Benfica in the last 16 stage of the Champions League.

The first leg will be played in Portugal on either 21 or 22 February, 2006, with the return game at Anfield two weeks later on 7 or 8 March.

Full Draw
Chelsea vs Barcelona
Real Madrid vs Arsenal
Werder Bremen vs Juventus
Bayern Munich vs AC Milan
PSV Eindhoven vs Lyon
Ajax vs Inter Milan
Benfica vs Liverpool
Rangers vs Villarreal

1) The Chelsea vs Barca match-up would be interesting, let's see how Barca can put Mourinho's shit outta CL early this season.

2) Arsenal has got a tough draw against Real, with Real's current wayward form; the Gunners might come out from the tie as winners.

3) Juve would be able to win theirs.

4) Another tough match-up between Bayern & AC Milan, i favour Bayern to win this.

5) PSV Eindhoven would win theirs against Lyon.

6) Ajax vs Inter, another toughie. Inter Milan should be able to do their stuff & win over 2 legs.

7) Liverpool should win theirs against Benfica too, surely.

8) Rangers should overcome Villarreal.
Liverpool 3 - 0 Deportivo Saprissa

Crouch Double Propels Pool into Final

Liverpool are in the final of the FIFA Club World Championship in Japan. They overcame Deportivo Saprissa with a comfortable win with 3 goals.

Crouch scored 2 goals; one in each half, Gerrard scored another in the 30th minute. We kept another clean sheet, the 11th one. The team (2005) have now replaced Kenny Dalglish's 1987 side in the club's record books as the meanest defence ever.

We are now only 90 minutes away from being Champions of the world, we face Sao Paolo in the final on Sunday. May we put up another magnificent show and return to Anfield with silverware & the title - CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD.

Linz Family Wins the Million on TAR

The Linz Family

It all seems quite clear that who's going to win the million on this season of The Amazing Race. The Linz's siblings are younger, fitter and seems to have better luck than the Bransens & Weavers.

I didn't particularly enjoy this season of TAR as the teams are basically still travelling within the States & have less obstacles to overcome. Unlike the previous seasons, the teams had to deal with the language barrier and cultural shock of some Asian countries.

I hope the next season would include teams of 2 persons, no more family edition for me.

We Could be Champions of the World

Rafael Benitez & the lads at training

Liverpool touched down at Japan's Narita Airport after a gruelling flight, having travelled almost 6,000 miles from their Melwood training ground to Japan.

Liverpool would play Deportivo Saprissa in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Championship after the Costa Rican side defeated Sydney FC in the quarter-final.

As most of the players put it, they are in Japan to win the title of world champions. It would bring about immense honour if the Anfield club manages to do so in Japan.

Liverpool 2 - 0 Middlesbrough

Nando Double keeps Liverpool 2nd on the league table

Fernando Morientes played his best game yet in the premier league by scoring 2 goals against Boro, hence adding 3 points to the Anfield club's tally before heading to Japan for the World Club Championships.

Getting the goals must have been a boost to Nando's confidence. He has only scored twice before his couple last weekend. Liverpool seems to be hitting some fine form for the past month, we kept the 10th clean sheet; our strikers are scoring goals & even Steven Gerrard is playing well on the right side, though his preferred position would have been in centre midfield.

Boro seems to have a game plan in mind, coming to Anfield. To contain the likes of Nando, Crouch, Gerrard and Riise for as long as they can hold on. However, the moment Luis Garcia was brought on; things changed. We seemed to be winning more possession & the goals came off Nando not long after Garcia was brought on.

The win was important for Liverpool. They are now 2nd on the league table, trailing Chelsea. It was a vital win & moral boost for the lads before they leave for Japan for the WCC.

Hopes are now high that Liverpool could return from Japan, branding themselves as the Champions of the World. How cool does that sound?

Looking at them makes me HAPPY

Sunshine Daisies

What beautiful flowers, don't you agree?
I got all 10 stalks of them at just $4, at the Far East Flora wholesale centre along Thomson Road.

It's a cool place to get flowers, especially if you need them in big quanties. Like decorations for church weddings, functions, dinners or events. It's the place to get your flowers - fresh & cheap.

Oh, bring a sweater if you are going there. It's freaking cold there, they keep the flowers at very very low temperatures in the cold rooms.

Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire

They are all grown-up

I caught the movie last weekend.
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, read all the books; including the latest - The Half Blood Prince.

I have caught the movie late, after the initial hype from the media & press. I have heard differing reviews from my friends & colleagues whom have watched the movie earlier. They are saying that you would be disappointed if you read the book & go to watch the movie; hoping it would be an exact replica of the book. Others have said that the movie was enjoyable and definitely 'darker' than the 3 earlier movies.

Of course, no one should go catch the movie; hoping it would be an exact replica of the book. That's impossible. There are bound to be differences. I thought the movie was kinda short. Yeah, 180 mins of Harry Potter is not enough for a huge fan like me. Because of its length, the movie wasn't able to build up the suspense & the story it could do with the book.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie; maybe my expectations weren't that high.
Go watch it if you haven't.

Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool

Freaking Challenge

Liverpool finished top of Group G, ahead of Chelsea.
Even typing that out feels so good.

The talking point had to be the scumbag challenge on Hamann by Essien, that f***ing asshole. Got to see the video of the said challenge on Dan's blog, please see link.

Jose had the cheek to say that he missed the freaking challenge on Didi. WTF?? And how could the ref miss that tackle by scumbag Essien? It happened right under his nose!!

"I was going for the ball and I think he came over the ball and caught me just below the knee. The referee didn't see it and you have to get on with it," said Hamann.

"It was the worst tackle I've ever been on the receiving end of, and he didn't even apologise afterwards." - liverpool official website

The fact remains, we finshed ahead of Chelsea in Group G & will possibly avoid the likes of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and other heavyweights in the next round.

We play Boro this weekend, then it's off to Japan for the World Club Championships. We could probably secure the title of the best team in the world for the Reds.

Liverpool 3 - 0 Wigan

Finally, finally

Crouch scored, Crouch scored, not 1 goal, but 2 goals.
Magnificent play from the lanky striker.

Sunderland 0 - 2 Liverpool

Garcia Scores the first

I know I haven't been updating the wins Liverpool have had recently, but they are in such fine form that even I find it hard to believe.

The mid-week game with Sunderland ended with 2 goals from Garcia & Gerrard, another 3 points, moving us up to the 4th spot on the table.

The only blemish, Momo Sissoko was sent off in the 65th min. Pool pulled themselves together, re-organized the formation & went on to a win; despite having to play the remaining of the match with 10 men.

Well done to the team, we are surely; definitely going to make our wayy up the league table.
