Are we in for a Treat or What?

Showdown....?!? Posted by Hello

Alas, the final 2 emerged.
Are they worthy, some may ask.

Well, we voted & here are our results. I kinda prefer Taufik to Sly.

However, i revisited the Starhub Idol site to listen to the performances of both at the Piano Shows. Though Sly does really sux during the Piano Show, he showed great improvement at the Wildcard Show (thanks to Ken Lim's advice, maybe) . I watched Taufik's performance at the Piano Show, he has a great voice, but i loathed the way he rebuked Ken's comments.

Well, Taufik has shown tremendous improvements since the Piano Show. He has shown that he can really sing, coupled with those grooves & moves; not forgetting that he had humbled alot. He almost outshined the rest for all of the genres. On the other hand, Sly's standard of performance nosedived from Disco Night, he has been going from bad to worse since the early weeks of the Spectaculars.

BUT, he has his crowd of die-hard teenage girl fans who has the $$ to spend; voting for him. Hence, he's in the Final at Olinda's expense.

I have said my piece, i hope Taufik wins & may the Taufik supporters come round & outdo the crazy Sly's fans, who has the incredible spending power.

Another Team Eliminated on TAR 6

2nd team Eliminated from TAR 6 Posted by Hello

Sigh, it had to end this way; does it?

Maria screwed the team's chances of finishing earlier by not knowing how to drive a manual car. What the heck?

That just proves the point why all drivers should start to learn driving with a stick. The initiative from the government was right, we should start driving with manual gear. However, from next year onwards; budding drivers can choose to learn driving with auto gear. That's good news for some, with the auto gear; you can literally cruise on the roads w/o worrying about the need to change gears & stuff.

Is it a good or bad idea to introduce "3A license"? I guess we would only know the difference when it gets implemented next year.

Surprise Surprise

Mr & Mrs Edmund Yeo Posted by Hello

Who would have thought? Lian got married before both Patsy & me (customary lah).

Lian was so scheming, said she had invitations for free lunch yesterday & invited Patsy & myself. Both of us thought it was an usual gathering, where we would talk nonsense & bitch about everything. Who knows, we got a wedding invitation card earlier in the week stating the venue of a wedding lunch at Amara Hotel. The most alarming part, i saw Lian's name; as the BRIDE !!

Hah, now we can't call her Lian anymore. We must change the way we address her, Mrs Yeo!

Hahaha!

would have been more interesting if it's Olinda vs Taufik Posted by Hello

*Sigh*

What a pity, was really hoping for a 'real' showdown between Olinda & Taufik; 2 of the best remaining contestants of SG Idol.

Alas, the screaming girl fans of Sylvester put him into the Idol Finals. Not that he's undeserving, but i thought Olinda would have been more deserving. She has put in alot of effort & hard work to overcome her earlier 'butch' image & has shown vocal capabilities. As Ken put it to her, she has one of the best vocals in the competition & whoever goes home tonight doesn't necessarily means that he/she doesn't have the vocals.

I wish her all the best & may she fulfill her dream of being a recording artiste.

TAR 6 - First Elimination

first elimination on TAR 6 Posted by Hello

The Amazing Race 6 is ON!!

That was fast, season 6 was aired barely 3 months from the last. Good friends Avi & Joe were the first team eliminated from TAR 6.

There seems to be more co-ed teams in the season than the previous seasons. I'm still clueless on which team i'm rooting for now, probably in the next week or so.

Forgotten the movie

easily forgotten movie Posted by Hello

Watched this movie yesterday; boy, i was really disappointed.

Hailed as the "biggest jaw-dropper" since The Sixth Sense, major over-statment. It's nowhere near the quality of the suspense triller.

Much as i like Julianne Moore, she seems to be trapped in the weak plot & unable to bring sensation/excitement to the movie. Nonetheless, still amazing acting skills from her & the guy who played Ash.

Maybe my expectations were too high for the highly-acclaimed movie.

So Close yet so Far

Dahpne Out Posted by Hello

Need i say more?

It sux to be eliminated at this stage of the competition, especially when you have gotten so far. However, someone has to go to make way for the first SG Idol. It just happened to be Daphne's turn this week.

Though i didn't like her nasal tone, i must admit she looked so much better from the initial auditions till now; prettier. Same as Leandra, she would still have her fair share of opportunities. The biggest advantage would be her youth & her family wealth.

My 1st Trip to Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands Posted by Hello

I took this pic from the back garden of our room at Theme Park Hotel at Genting Highlands. I woke up especially early on the Saturday morning & went out alone with my digital camera.

I was standing at the edge of the railing, waiting for the fog to clear to get a clearer pic, my patience paid off. If only my lousy camera possess the ability to 10x zoom, i would definitely get a clearer pic.

Anyway, it was fun at Genting; with the gang & jackpot!!! I didn't know it could be so fun, we might re-visit Genting again next year. Hah, the evil peril of the jackpot machine.

I'll post up more photos of the gang in a few days time.

Princess of Soul outta running for SG Idol

Falling w the Fallin' Posted by Hello

Princess of Soul, Leandra was booted out of the SG Idol this week.

She was often praised for having one of the best voices in the competition, i agreed to a certain extent. But, I thought her voice lack the power & maturity. You could see her struggling with most of the genres of music each week. But she somehow managed to make it so far in the competition.

Nonetheless, she's still very young. Lots of opportunities are awaiting her.

2 Interviews Yesterday

View From Cable Car Posted by Hello

Ain't it pretty?

I took the pic with my phone while i was on my way to an interview at the Mt. Faber cable car station.

You feel so small & insignificant when you look out & see the mass greenery around you. And you, suspended in mid-air; not knowing where to look or put your hand at. I'm not afraid of heights, but it's been so long since i last took a cable car & subject myself to such a great height.

Anyway, the crux of this post is about my 2 interviews yesterday. Yes, i had 2 interviews yesterday. One at PSA, the other at Singapore Cable Car (that's why i had to take the cable car, dude). I'm not pinning much hope on getting the corp comm position at PSA, i think i sux-ed during the interview. I'm hoping to get the job at SCC though, so that i can get 2 rides on the cable car daily. Besides, the novelty of cable car rides; the job at SCC might just be able to help me take the first step into another industry altogether.

Pray for me. (fingers crossed, toes crossed, hair crossed; no...should be tangled).
Arghhh !!
